In a letter to President Obama, RI Governor Don Carcieri has declared that even though the failed economic policies of the right wing he cherishes have produced nothing for the people of Rhode Island, the President should follow the governor's lead. After all...
I have spent over 30 years in business – ten of them in the banking industry—and have been governor for six years.
This was my favorite criticism in the letter:
Further, it is laden with enormous amounts of spending that have little to do with economic stimulus.
Really? Because if I read the Governor's supplemental budget proposal there are a number of measures that have nothing to do with economics, stimulating or otherwise. Of course, the Governor calls for massive (his emphasis) tax cuts, because, again, they have done wonders for our economy. It is as if the Governor is writing "pay no attention to the failures of the tax cut philosophy. This time, I promise, they'll work."
Remember when the Governor promised to develop a State economy, though tax cuts, that ould bring in 20,000 jobs. How's that working out for us?
